Yoga by the Zambezi River

  • Lower Zambezi National Park

Lower Zambezi NP in the South Eastern part of Zambia. This area provides a natural wildlife corridor running between the Zambezi Escarpment, the northern border of The Great Rift Valley, and, the ‘Mighty’ Zambezi River. It is famous for big game from large herds of Elephant and Buffalo, Lion, African Wild Dog, various Antelope, large pods of wallowing Hippos, the Nile Crocodile, and the legendary Tiger Fish for keen fishermen and women. It offers a combination of land and water based encounters along with the calming nature of this great river.

  • South Luangwa National Park

South Luangwa National Park, located in northern Zambia is the premier park in Zambia and one of the best national parks in all of Africa. It was here that the now famous ‘walking safari’ originated, when Norman Carr, began to operate wilderness safaris in the area. It offers a wide variety of wildlife and terrific photo-opportunities , including regular sightings of the elusive Leopard, Hartebeest, Sable and Roan. For bird enthusiasts there are over 400 varieties within the park, it being a crossroad for southern, eastern and west African birds.

  • Victoria Falls - Livingstone

Experience the power and beauty of Victoria Falls (locally known as Mosi-O-Tunya, cloud of thunder), at its magnificent peak in May. Nearby is Livingstone a bustling African town, once the capital of Zambia, has many colonial buildings and much history to explore. Along with museums, the national art gallery, the local market and artisan workshops there are river activities, bush walks, and the nearby Mosi-O-Tunya National Park has the white rhino along with numerous other animals.

Kafunta River Lodge

Kafunta River Lodge is a classic Zambian safari lodge, in the magical South Luangwa National Park. It’s spectacular location on the edge of the floodplain offers great game viewing areas for safari drives and walks. A photographic hide, in camp, is the perfect place to photograph daily visitors to the waterhole in front of the lodge. For a little self nurturing there is an infinity pool and the only natural hot tub in the Luangwa Valley. With an average temperature of 37 degrees, the water is very therapeutic and it too offers magnificent views over the flood plain and the Luangwa River.
